James specialises in the Microsoft server (with a particular emphasis on Exchange, SQL and security) and desktop offerings, Apple desktop and server products as well as Ubuntu Linux both at server and desktop level.
From a strategic perspective he has significant experience of the use of IT in education, spanning medical education through to primary and secondary education. Advice can be given on how to integrate ICT into your curriculum whatever the audience. A particular emphases is given to Virtual Learning Environments (VLE) and how open source solutions such as Moodle can be used to best advantage.
Other activities undertaken include database analysis and design, project management, policy and procedure development.
Past major projects include a migration from Netware to NT for 400+ Servers and 6000 Users, the installation and migration of a global Exchange environment, implementation of a service orientated culture in support, and the restructuring of a global IT department.
